To fulfill its mission of promoting scientific research and teaching in all disciplines, the foundation issues an annual call for proposals. Applications are reviewed by at least two subject-specific experts and discussed in the annual meeting of the Funding Advisory Board.
Approval of research funding requires applicants to submit both a scientific and a financial report to the board of trustees.
Over the past 100 years, the foundation has adapted to changing needs and professionalized its operations. The foundation’s coordination office supports the Funding Advisory Board in all matters and organizes the submission process, evaluation, and grant allocation. It is part of the UZH Research & Grants Office.
