Obtaining signatures: adhere to deadlines

Certain project applications require the approval/signature of the Vice President Research before submission:

  • SNSF/EU calls for proposals are handled directly via AVA.
  • For US grants and/or foundations, please contact the Research & Grants Office early (support@research.uzh.ch)

► At least 2 weeks before the deadline to ensure a timely signature.

► For military funding agencies (DoD, DARPA, etc.): at least 3 weeks before the deadline. The request must contain all information relevant for the approval of the VPR.

The signing of research contracts after approval is usually initiated via the project initiation process (including legal review) onAVA .

► Here too, please allow at least 2 weeks for internal signatures. Therefore, start the process as early as possible if deadlines set by the funding body must be observed.

► Exception: For Horizon Europe projects, the signatures (including contract revision) are handled directly by the Research & Grants Office.

In case of doubt, always contact the Research & Grants Office
