Unitectra/Wyss/DSI

The Vice-President Research is responsible for a number of organizational units, which have their own legal form and are co-financed by the university. These organizations are of importance to the whole university and provide important services for research.

Unitectra

Unitectra is the technology transfer organization of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich. Its services support researchers in cooperating with the private sector and other private or public institutions. In close cooperation with researchers, Unitectra takes care of the practical translation of research results into new products and services. The implementation is carried out in cooperation with existing companies or by supporting the creation of university spin-off companies.

Wyss Zurich is a joint accelerator of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich with the aim of advancing the translation of outstanding scientific discoveries into new therapies for patients and breakthrough innovations in regenerative medicine and robotics.

Digital Society Initiative (DSI)

The Digital Society Initiative (DSI) shapes the digital transformation of society and science. With interdisciplinary activities in research, education and outreach, the DSI is the University of Zurich's (UZH) competence centre on digital transformation.

The DSI is a scientific institution supported by all faculties of the UZH, which promotes independent scientific reflection and innovation on questions of digital transformation. It prepares UZH students to help shape the digital transformation, engages in regular discourse with the public and supports policy-making on digital transformation issues.

What does the DigitaI Society Initiative (DSI) do in concrete terms?
