Research Integrity
The University of Zurich and its members are committed to the principles of academic integrity. To promote scientific integrity and prevent scientific misconduct, it provides information and training, as well as legally clear structures and procedures for investigating suspected cases.
Prof. em. Dr. Markus Grütter, Prof. em. Dr. Friedrich Wilkening and Prof. Dr. Monica Zwicky act as ombudsperson as the first and central point of contact in case of suspected scientific misconduct and receive reports accordingly. They provide advice, support and mediation throughout the university and make preliminary inquiries upon receipt of a report. If they consider it appropriate to initiate proceedings, they inform the university administration, legal services and the accused person.
The Research Integrity Delegate Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Ernst or his deputy Dr. Caterina Nägeli conduct proceedings on behalf of the University Executive Board to investigate suspicions of scientific misconduct. If necessary, a commission of investigation is appointed to assist.
