Note for UZH Doc.Mobility stays in the USA
Research stays in the USA are still possible and can be applied for accordingly.
Please note that the processes for applying for a visa and the entry modalities are currently stricter and unstable.
Contact points for binding information on visas and entry into the USA are the US Embassy in Switzerland and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA)
You should also contact your US host institution in good time to clarify the current entry requirements and to obtain any necessary documents.
Further general information on applying for a US visa can be found in the information set under point 4 (PDF, 97 KB)
General information on travel for UZH members can be found on the internal Global Affairs website
UZH Doc.Mobility recipients who have already received approval for a stay in the US but are now unable or unwilling to travel to the US have the option of changing their destination country and host institution. To do so, please submit the following documents to the Grants Office immediately:
- Invitation letter from the new host institution (see guidelines p. 9)
- Reasons for the change and the choice of the new host institution (analogous to research plan section iv) Relevance of Stay Abroad and Choice of Host Institution in the guidelines).
The amount originally awarded will be adjusted according to the new destination country and host institution.
Evaluation of applications
The Research Committee of the University of Zurich is responsible for the assessment of applications and the decision-making.
